Membership terms

These terms apply to your Networking48 membership. They explain the membership options, how payments and the minimum term work, how to cancel, and what we expect from members. Please read them before you join.

1. About us and these terms

Networking48 is run by FRONT9 DIGITAL LTD (company number 15516300), 128 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX. You can contact us at hello@networking48.co.uk.

When you join, you agree to these terms. Our privacy policy explains how we use personal information.

2. Membership

Networking48 membership is for business owners, founders, freelancers and professionals who want to network with other businesses in the counties they join. You join as an individual and can list your business on your profile.

Membership gives you, for each county you belong to:

  • access to that county's member directory;
  • member introductions: seeing what members offer and who they want to meet, and contacting them;
  • the county's regular quarterly member events;
  • a member profile for you and your business.

You must give accurate information when you join and keep your profile up to date.

3. Membership options and prices

There are two membership options. Both are paid monthly:

OptionPrimary countyMinimum termEach additional county
6-month membership£29 a month6 months£10 a month
12-month membership£25 a month12 months£10 a month

There is no month-to-month option for new members. Payments are taken monthly in advance, by card, through our payment provider Stripe. The price you pay is shown before you pay and in your account.

4. The minimum term

When you join, you choose a 6-month or 12-month minimum term for your primary membership. It starts on the day your first payment is taken. By joining, you agree to keep your membership, and to make the monthly payments, for at least the whole minimum term.

Your minimum term end date is shown on the Billing page in your account and in your welcome email. It is fixed when you join and does not change if you add or remove counties.

5. After the minimum term

When the minimum term ends, your membership continues automatically on a monthly rolling basis, at the same monthly price, until you cancel. You are not signed up to a new minimum term. We'll email you when your membership becomes monthly rolling.

6. Cancelling your membership

You cancel from the Billing page in your account. Nothing ends straight away:

  • During your minimum term, you can ask to cancel at any time. Your membership is then scheduled to end on the last day of the minimum term. Until then it stays fully active and your monthly payments continue.
  • After your minimum term, cancelling schedules your membership to end at the end of the monthly billing period you are in. You keep full access until then, and no further payments are taken.

Your account shows the date your membership will end, and we confirm it by email. Until that date you can choose Keep membership, and your membership carries on as before.

Membership can't be cancelled from the Stripe billing portal: the portal is for updating your payment method and billing details and downloading invoices.

Payments already made for a monthly billing period are not refunded for the part of the period after you stop using the service.

If you have a legal right to cancel that these terms don't describe, contact us at hello@networking48.co.uk and we'll deal with it in line with the law.

7. Additional counties

You can add counties from your account at any time. An added county is open to you straight away. You pay a proportionate amount for the rest of your current monthly billing period, and from then on each additional county adds £10 a month to your monthly payment. Adding a county does not change your minimum term or its end date.

You can remove an additional county at any time. It stays open to you until the end of the monthly billing period you have already paid for, and your monthly payment goes down from the next payment. Removing a county doesn't change your minimum term or end your membership. Your last remaining county can't be removed this way: ending your membership is a cancellation (section 6).

8. Failed payments

If a monthly payment fails, Stripe will try to take it again over the following days and we'll email you. Your membership stays open while the payment is retried. Please update your payment method from the Billing page.

If the payment still can't be collected after these retries, your membership may be suspended or ended.

9. Member events

Regular quarterly member events are included with your membership.

Event dates, venues, format and capacity may vary from county to county and from event to event. Events may need an RSVP, may have limited places, and may occasionally be moved, changed or cancelled. When that happens we'll let members who have RSVPed know as soon as we can.

10. How members must behave

Networking48 works because members trust each other. You must:

  • be professional and respectful to other members, at events and online;
  • not harass, threaten, discriminate against or abuse anyone;
  • not use Networking48 for anything unlawful, fraudulent or misleading;
  • use other members' contact details only for genuine one-to-one business networking, and not add them to mailing lists or send spam or unsolicited bulk messages;
  • not copy, scrape, download in bulk, sell or pass on the member directory or members' information;
  • not upload anything you don't have the right to share, or anything offensive or unlawful.

11. Your account

Your membership is personal to you. Keep your password safe, don't share your account, and tell us straight away at hello@networking48.co.uk if you think someone else has used it.

12. Your profile and content

You keep ownership of the information, photos and logos you add. You allow us to store them and show them to other members of your counties, and on the public website where you choose to be featured, for as long as they are on Networking48.

You confirm you have the right to use anything you upload, including your business logo.

Being featured on your county's public page is optional. It is off unless you switch it on, and you can switch it off at any time from your profile.

13. Suspending or ending a membership

We may suspend or end a membership, acting reasonably and in proportion, if a member seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, for example through misconduct towards other members, fraud, non-payment, misuse of members' information, or unlawful use of the service. Where it's appropriate, we'll warn you and give you the chance to put things right first, and we'll tell you why we have acted.

14. Our responsibility to you

We will provide the membership with reasonable care and skill.

Networking48 introduces members to each other. We don't check, recommend or guarantee members, their businesses or their services, and any business you do with another member is between you and them.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

If you use Networking48 for business purposes, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business or revenue, or any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you in connection with your membership is limited to the membership fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim arose.

15. Business and consumer members

Networking48 is designed for people joining for business purposes. If you join as a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms do not affect, and nothing in these terms takes them away.

16. Changes to the service or these terms

We may improve or change Networking48, for example by adding features or counties. We may also update these terms or our prices. If a change materially affects your membership, we'll tell you by email before it applies to you. If you don't want to continue after a change, you can cancel as described in section 6.

17. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.

If something goes wrong, please contact us first at hello@networking48.co.uk. We'll do our best to sort it out.

These terms apply from 23 February 2024.
